Accomplishments
Ms. Silver began her practice of law in the areas of insurance defense and medical malpractice. She then launched a successful career in the financial services industry, assisting individuals with their budgeting, retirement planning, and estate planning, and often serving as a lecturer through the University of Missouri Extension Program. Ms. Silver spent ten years as a financial planner, owning her own company for most of them. Contemporaneously, she also began managing a family foundation, which eventually prompted her to leave the financial services industry and focus on nonprofit work. She has spent nearly the past two decades running the foundation, meeting with nonprofits to learn more about the needs of the region, and getting involved in several of them on a volunteer basis. Most recently, Ms. Silver served as Board President and Interim CEO of a nonprofit media outlet, guiding the entity through a restructuring.
