Kevin F. O’Malley

Kevin O’Malley is Of Counsel at Greensfelder Hemker & Gale P.C. and previously served the country as the United States Ambassador to Ireland, nominated by President Barack Obama in 2014. He led the medical negligence and white-collar crime areas of practice at the Greensfelder firm prior to moving to Dublin.  A former federal prosecutor, he has tried numerous cases to conclusion in the federal and state courts of Missouri, Illinois, California and Arizona. He is the senior author of the nine-volume treatise Federal Jury Practice and Instructions which is used in federal trials throughout the U.S.  O’Malley was appointed to serve on the Missouri Board for the Healing Arts, the state’s licensing and disciplinary authority for physicians as its only non-physician member. He was subsequently elected to serve as Board president.  He has taught American law in Ireland, Russia, and Poland and recently served on the Board of Directors of Greencore Group plc, a billion dollar international food company headquartered in Dublin and traded on the London Stock Exchange.  O’Malley is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a recipient of the Award of Honor of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, both of which stress civility in the resolution of legal disputes. In 2016 he was awarded an honorary doctorate in medical science by St. Louis University.  In 2019 he was appointed as the Ambassador-in-Residence and Professor of Practice at St. Louis University School of Law and was recently elected to the law school’s Hall of Fame. He has considerable experience in mediation and arbitration as a litigant, mediator, and arbitrator.
