Cardina Johnson

Cardina Johnson currently serves as Deputy General Counsel for Illinois Education Association. She previously served as the Professional Staff Grievance Committee Chair and the Chair of the Internal Disciplinary Hearing Board for the Illinois Education Association Staff Organization when she worked as Associate General Counsel for the Illinois Education Association. Prior to that, she practiced law representing both defendant and plaintiff clients, first as a labor and employment attorney working for a small law firm, then as in-house counsel for a police department. Thereafter, she worked for a large law firm primarily practicing insurance defense. The Missouri Supreme Court appointed Cardina Johnson as a member of the Missouri Bar Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel Committee to serve two, consecutive four- year terms from the years 2016 – 2023. She has also served as faculty for numerous Continuing Legal Education training programs and seminars for Bar Association Metropolitan St. Louis, Missouri Bar Plan, Illinois Education Association, National Staff Organization and U.S. Arbitration & Mediation.
